TenSpa use only high quality, authentic eco-friendly, healthy Nordic wood. The Nordic wood we use is truly renewable intended for outdoor use.

Sustainability and environmental friendliness are very important to both us and our customers. So our timber suppliers are also PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) and FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) certified. They even take additional steps like replanting more trees than are harvested. Our use Scandinavian timber better resistant to moisture, mold, rot and UV rays. This allows our products to be used for a long time.

In order for the Scandinavian wood to last longer, we recommend regularly cleaning the surfaces from dirt and dust. In the long term, protective oils or lacquer products for wood can be used, especially in intensively used areas.

TenSpa products can be collected with Scandinavian thermo wood, Scandinavian spruce wood or Larch.

Scandinavian thermo wood

Thermo wood is essentially natural wood, processed with heat (180–215°C), steam and water in specifically adjusted and controlled heating cycles. The thermal treatment process does not use chemicals. Thermo wood is environmentally friendly.

Due to heat treatment, thermo wood absorbs less water. The modification improves its dimensional stability and thermal insulation qualities.

Unlike ordinary wood, thermos wood contains no natural resins nor formaldehydes. It has a pleasant scent. Thermo wood weight is lighter and texture subtler, smooth to touch. After undergoing a full processing cycle, thermo wood acquires its typically warm caramel tint.

Scandinavian spruce wood

Spruce wood is flexible, durable strong in structure and resistant to decay. Spruce wood of this species is light color. It could be oiled or painted in the color of your choice.

Larch

Larch is one of the hardest softwoods, has a high density and is less vulnerable to impacts and scratches. Larch is also naturally rot resistant. It also contains a natural preservative that resists moisture. These factors alone can protect your hot tub from rotting and insect damage for years to come. Due to all these features, larch requires little care.

Wood plastic composite (WPC)

Wood-plastic composite (WPC) is made from a mixture of natural wood fiber and polymer. WPC was developed specifically to replace exotic wood. WPC is considered durable, resistant to rotting and mold. We suggest choosing a hot tub with WPC cladding for people who want to spend no or very little time on maintenance, as it would be enough to simply wash it when necessary. The hot tub with WPC cladding doesn’t need to be oiled or repainted like wood, but in the long run the table’s pattern may not be as bright due to UV exposure.

Tarkine (EX) Wood Fired Hot Tub has two options of the heating:

• External wood burning heater
• Combinate external wood burning heater with integrated electrical heater

The external wood burning hot tub heater is located outside the tub. Heat-resistant hoses connect the heater to the hot tub. The external heaters are double-walled. This means that there is a space inside the stove in which you can fire. But there is also a space filled with the water from the hot tub. When the stove and the hot tub are at the same height this will heat through natural circulation. When the stove is full of water, you can start firing. The cool water enters the stove through the lower hose, is heated and returns to the hot tub through the upper hose. This works naturally because heat always rises to the top. An outdoor oven offers more safety because it is installed outside the pool and therefore there is no danger from hot surfaces inside the pool. It is also easier to maintain and repair.

Tenspa designed two models of the external heaters: ordinary square or good-looking hexagon. Both of these models have two different oven sizes and power options. The ordinary square type stove could be 22 kW (50 cm length) or 28 kW (75 cm length) capacity. The hexagon type stove could be 24 kW (50 cm length) or 30 kW (75 cm length) capacity. According to TenSpa customer feedback, with the more powerful heater you will raise the water temperature by 10 °C in about one hour. If you use a less powerful stove, it will take you about 25% longer to heat the water. The heating time depends on various factors, including outside temperature, which is around +10 °C, fueling intensity, heating, wood size and moisture lid type, water quantity, insulation, etc.

You could choose the external stove from AISI 316 or AISI 304. If you plan to use salt, chlorides, acidic or you’re planning to place TenSpa hot tub near the sea you should choose AISI316. If you often use the hot tub and want long-lasting stove, we recommend the stove of 2 mm stainless steel thickness. Those who want to save money could choose a stove with 1,5 mm stainless steel thickness.

It is often quite difficult for a beginner hot tub user to maintain an even water temperature in the hot tub while heating it with wood. For this reason, we recommend Combinate built in wood burning heater with integrated electrical heater. This system allows you to choose how you heat your hot tub depending on your situation and needs. You could heat the cold water in the hot tub with a wood heater, because it will be cheaper and faster. And then keep water at a constant temperature with electrical heater. It is ideal for extended use without extra effort. The two operate independently, so you can switch between the two depending on your preference. Allow you to always enjoy your wellness moment to the fullest.

Advantages of Tenspa insulated UV resistant leather lid:

• High quality Marine UV resistant leather which prevents the color from fading and weakening the structure of the material
• 150 EPS foam helps to heat the water much faster. An outside air will not get inside. After enjoying the water therapy and taking a break between baths, cover the tub with a lid. In this way, you will keep the water temperature constant for longer
• Laminated 150 EPS polystyrene that protects the coating from moisture
• Galvanized steel C-channel strengthens the structure of the lid helps support the heavy weight on top of it
• Eko-friendly PE film do it resistant to moisture, but allows air to circulate. It helps eliminate mold, fungus or unpleasant odors
• A slope, so water or snow will not stay on the lid
• Heavy duty handles help easy to remove and removing non-drawing overlays
• It can be folded, so it takes up little space
• Lockable super strong tie down straps protects from being blown away
• Easy to clean

Advantages of fiberglass lid:

• Cheaper when UV resistant leather cover
• This kind of cover is quite enough if you don’t use the outdoor hot tub often or if you want to cover an unused outdoor hot tub for the winter
• The snow or rain slides off the cover

IMPORTANT: If you have the fiberglass cover at least two people must remove it from the hot tub. If the cover is dragged over the hot tub, it will scratch the sill of the hot tub

Tarkine (EX) wood fired hot tub could have hydro massage system, air massage system and LED lights.

Hydro Massage System
When you install Hydro massage system in your hot tub, your experience of SPA procedures will get onto a completely new level! Hydromassage is a type of hydrotherapy, which uses warm water and massages.  Use hot tub for hydromassage to relieve muscle pain and improve our circulatory system. In addition to providing pain relief, hydromassage may reduce stress. Nurture your mind and body with the unparalleled relaxation offered by our water massage system for hot tubs. The combination of immersion, heat and hydromassage improves blood circulation reduces muscle tension, promotes relaxation and offers a variety of health benefits.

Hydro Massage System is installed in ready-made outdoor hot tubs at our factory, and the massage is ready for use immediately after the tub is delivered. No installation is carried out in Hot Tub Liners without a customer’s specification, so when ordering, please write on which wall it is necessary to make holes in your hot tub liners. Hydro Massage System is controlled by a pneumatic switch placed on the side panel of the Hot Tub. The system also includes a controller that allows you to change the ratio of water and air from the nozzle to enhance the massage or make it more relaxing. Nozzles, the control switch, and regulator are covered with stainless steel, therefore they perfectly withstand any weather conditions. The suction unit draws water into the system, disperses it through the pipes, and releases it back into the hot tub via the jets. This efficient circulation ensures a consistent and powerful hydromassage experience. The jets can be adjusted at various angles.

Jets of hydro massage system

You can choose 6 powerful stainless steel jets with 0.9 kW pump or 8 powerful stainless steel jets with 1.1 kW pump. They are strategically positioned around the perimeter of the hot tub. These jets create a strong massaging force, providing a soothing and invigorating sensation.

If you want a more intensive hydro massage, we recommend 15 powerful stainless steel jets with 1.5 kW pump. In the hot tub we will make 5 seats with 3 jets in each seat. This arrangement allows giving a simultaneous massage to five bathers three points on the back at the same time, whereas the massage volume and intensity are ideal. Thanks to this system your soaking in the hot tub can get more pleasant and useful for health!

Air Bubble Massage System

For those looking for variety, our hydromassage system can be combined with air bubble massage in hot tub. You can also choose only air bubble massage with 12 stainless steel jets. Switch between a stronger or gentler massage to suit your mood and preferences.

At first glance, it seems that there is not much difference between a water massage system and an air massage system in a hot pipe. Both systems perform jet massage in the whirlpool. But if you look a little deeper, you will quickly realize that there are some important differences between a hydro massage system and an air massage system. The main difference between the two massage systems is the nozzle. Simply put, hydromassage uses water jets, while an air massage system uses air jets. The most obvious difference is the feel. The tub with the hydromassage system is equipped with classic, high-pressure, deep massage jets, which most people associate with hydrotherapy. Instead of a few concentrated jets, a hot tub with an air massage system has many jets of air that shoot millions of massaging bubbles. It’s a softer feel, but still very relaxing. So, if one day you want a deep tissue massage and the next day a soft, foaming feeling, then the right choice will be a hot tub with both types of massage systems.

LED Underwater Lighting

Underwater Led-lights will make your soaking in hot tub more pleasant, diverse, and cozy. You can choose one or two LED lights in your hot tub. This accessory allows you to change the color of water and gently illuminate it. You can choose one of the seven modes, either the one that will shine constantly in one color or turn on the mode when seven lighting colors will change smoothly.

The sand filter
The sand filter system efficiently removes dirt, particles, and impurities from the water, ensuring optimal water quality. Without a filter the hot tub water would fill with contaminants; quickly make the hot tub unusable. These contaminants come from both outside sources (leaves from trees, dust from the air) and from the bathers using the hot tub (sunscreen, makeup, deodorant etc). If left alone they can cause a range of problems; from cloudy water, to an increase in chemical usage, to the growth of an algae bloom (green water). To combat this, hot tubs come equipped with a filtration system. These systems work by pumping the hot tub water through a microfilter, which traps the contaminants and allows them to be easily removed. A filter is required to remove particles of all kinds, from microscopic ones to bigger pieces like leaves and everything in-between.
When water is pumped from the pool into the filter, it flows through the sand, where dirt and debris are trapped. The clean water is then returned to the pool. The dirt and debris that are trapped in the sand are removed from the filter by backwashing, which is the process of reversing the flow of water through the filter and flushing out the trapped dirt and debris.

The sand filter can be used with sand, glass or cotton. These filter media are not included with the sand filter.

Recommended to choose:

Glass fraction 0.8-1.2

Sand fraction 0.4-0.8. 0.04 fraction will be too small

NOTE: the sand filter can be used when the outside temperature reaches at least +5 °C. Otherwise, the sand filter may freeze.

Filter connections

If you are undecided about whether you need filtration or what sand filter you intend to use, we recommend to order a hot tub with 1 inch filter connections. In the future you will be able to connect at any time with the selected sand filter.

Filtration cover box

For those who want to hide the sand filter, we recommend purchasing a filtration cover box that will look great in your yard. In addition, a filtration cover box will serve perfectly as a large table by the hot tub. You can put towels or snacks with drinks on it.

TenSpa understands that the construction on which your hot tub stands is very important, so we offer several variants of it.

Wooden cross
If you plan to store the hot tub on a terrace or other wooden base wooden cross structure will be
sufficient. Besides, the wooden cross structure does not cost extra. If your base will be concrete, we do not recommend wood cross structure, because concrete brings moisture and the wood cross could start to rot faster.

Wood & steel cross
This structure is combinate: wood cross and 4mm stainless steel legs. For a small additional fee, your hot tub will be raised on 4mm stainless steel legs and the wooden cross structure will not have direct contact with the base on which the hot tub will stand.

Stainless steel cross
If you are looking for longevity and you want to completely avoid worrying about the structure of the hot tub choose full stainless steel cross. The hot tub with stainless steel cross you could put on each solid base.

Closed bottom with stainless steel cross
 A completely closed bottom with a stainless steel sheet and a stainless steel cross will protect the hot tub from rodents, humidity and atmospheric effects.
